December 4, 2022 – Tallinn, Estonia

This is another post that’s late. I’m taking my posts from Facebook and copying them to this blog site. I’ve got a few more days left to post, all going back in time. Thanks for reading.

Dec 4 — Another fine dinner tonight but in Tallinn instead of Helsinki. The restaurant was Rataskaevu 16 named after its address. Rataskaevu is the street. It’s just 200 meters from my AirBnB and was recommended by my host.

Had a triple currant drink which was really good, braised elk, and hot fudge cake for dessert. They call moose elk here. It reminded me of pot roast in flavor, color and texture.

I was going to walk some of the calories off but the roads and sidewalks are kinda slick from ice and snow.

Took a Viking Line ferry from Helsinki south to Tallinn, Estonia today. Crossed the Baltic Sea for two and a half hours. It’s a cold day. It’s 25 degrees at 3:22 PM.

Checked into an AirBnB just outside the medieval walls of the old town. The sun is about to go down on this overcast day but this is going to be an interesting place to explore this evening and tomorrow.

One photo shows Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral. The tower is St Nicholas Church, now an art museum. I don’t know the seagull’s name.

The map shows where the ferry was when I made the screenshot.
