Took the Metro to a stop outside the Galleries Lafayette where I bought my new phone yesterday. I asked a sales guy if he could get my phone to send and receive calls. He said a SIM card was needed but they didn’t sell them.
I walked past a tourist information booth in the store on the ground floor and asked how I could get to the address the salesman said was a place I could buy a SIM card. The lady at the booth said they sold them there at the booth. So, I bought one and she installed it.
From the Galleries Lafayette, took the Metro to Franklin D Roosevelt, a stop kind of near the Arc de Triomphe. Went up to the top of it. The ticket cost 13 euros.
The Arc is 164 feet high, higher than any surrounding building, so the view from the top is excellent. The only downside is you have to take stairs to the top. Whew.
After coming down the Arc de Triomphe, walked the entire length of the Champs-Elysees, 1.2 miles. It ends at Place de la Concord with its Egyptian obelisk.
Along the walk, stopped at the McDonald’s and had a kid’s happy meal. Boy, was his mom mad. Okay, just kidding. I wouldn’t eat at a McDonald’s here.
I did have a crepe filled with egg, cheese and ham from a stand along the Champs-Elysees. It was good but it would have been better if it had mustard.
I walked back to my Airbnb enjoying the vibe of Paris. It’s a little chilly though. This morning it snowed lightly. It didn’t stick because surface temperatures are above freezing.
