May 28, 2023 – Back home from Ireland

It was a great trip to Ireland but there are still plenty of things to see and do there.

The Irish are friendly, helpful and funny and it certainly helps to visit a country where English is spoken. The costs are reasonable and it’s fairly easy to get around.

The photo is of a Friday evening hangout of mostly beer drinking young people. It’s along the Grand Canal which was a few blocks south of where I was staying in Dublin.

I’ll end with an Irish joke. The Irish won’t mind. They have a good sense of humor.

An Irishman comes upon a lamp and seeing that it’s a bit dirty, starts rubbing the dirt away. Out pops a genie to the Irishman’s astonishment.

Genie says, “Master, thank you for releasing me from the lamp. To repay you, you may have three wishes.”

Irishman wastes no time saying, “I’d like a bottomless beer mug of Guinness. It shall never go empty.”

Genie snaps his fingers and in a puff of smoke the bottomless mug of Guinness appears.

The Irishman wastes no time starting to drink the beer.

After a minute the Genie reminds the Irishman, “Master, you have two more wishes. What shall they be?”

Irishman, again wasting no time, says, “I shall have two more just like this one.”

The End
