Moved downhill to a guesthouse near the southern shore of a great big lake, Issyk Kul. The lake is 50 miles wide and a hundred miles long and has a max depth of 2192 ft. It’s the seventh deepest lake in the world.
It’s slightly salty and doesn’t freeze in the winter despite the cold winters here at 5272 ft elevation. I’ll get photos of the lake tomorrow.
The guesthouse is run by a Russian couple so dinner tonight was Russian dishes. No vodka though.
