December 3, 2023 – Mexico City

Visited the National Museum of Anthropology today. Spent four and a half hours and saw only half of it. It covered all of the native civilizations in Mexico: Aztec, Maya, Olmec, Toltec and more I’d never heard of.

Admission was $90 pesos which is about $5.70 US.

Took so many photos that my phone’s battery went to 1%. Then, the phone shutdown. That’s when I called it quits.

Great museum. It’s in Chapultapec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. It has lots of trees and is considered the lungs of Mexico City.

This city has a lot to offer and it feels safe in the central part.

Have a good day wherever you are.

Mexican food at a restaurant tonight instead of street food. This is mole con pechuga. That’s mole with chicken breast. It was good but they overcooked the chicken breast which is easy to do.

The drink is a mimosa. It was the only drink in their selection of six that I understood.

The streets and sidewalks are pretty quiet but it is Sunday night. Tomorrow morning the hellish traffic returns.

Good thing I bought a Metro Card this evening for rides the next two days. Mexico City’s metro is the second most extensive in North America after New York City’s.

Have a good night.
