July 3, 2024 Huntsville to Ottawa, Canada

Hello from Ottawa, capital of Canada in the province of Ontario.

Pretty easy flights today since no oceans had to be crossed.

Arrived at my humble B&B about 3:30. Then, went for a walk.

Walked across a bridge over the Ottawa River which put me in the province of Quebec. Then walked to another bridge and back to the Ontario side.

Looks like lots of restoration of the old government buildings. Even the official residence of Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, is being worked on. Trudeau lives in temporary housing right now.

I asked the lady who checked me in at the B&B where I could get some Canadian food for dinner. She basically said there isn’t such thing as Canadian food and then rattled off a bunch of restaurants – Indian, Vietnamese, pizza, hamburgers and more.

The pizza place she suggested was closed so I went across the street and had a good Thai meal.

Then back to the B&B. Tomorrow I’ll fly farther north to Iqaluit in the territory of Nunavut.
