Did a day tour from Copenhagen north along the coast to Helsingor where Kronborg Castle is. The Castle was the setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet, nicely situated on the Oersund Strait which separates Denmark and Sweden with three miles of sea.
Then, took a ferry across the Strait to Helsingborg, Sweden, a twenty five minute ride.
Then, south on the bus to Lund, a town with a university of 40,000 students and a nice park-like center. Pleasant place.
Then, a short drive to Malmo, the third largest city in Sweden with the tallest building in Scandinavia at 93 meters high. The Burj Khalifa it isn’t nor would Scandinavians want something like that unless it were built of Legos or by IKEA.
Then, over the Oersund Bridge back to Copenhagen. The bridge is a five mile strand of steel and concrete, simple yet elegant. As you approach Copenhagen the road goes into a tunnel, diving under the sea for 2.5 miles.
Then, it’s Copenhagen and hot dogs and Smirnoff for dinner. It’s back home tomorrow so thanks for reading and happy travels.
Cheers
