May 11, 2025 – Walked from Twice Brewed to Chollerford, England

Today was long and hard. Thirteen miles of walking on Hadrian’s Wall Path up and down ridges following the Wall. Could see the Wall miles ahead and stretching forever.

But, finally made it to my end point for this walk at Chollerford in front of the Roman fort, Chesters. It was closing so didn’t get to see it but the inn where I’m staying picked me up there as they were supposed to.

If you want to walk Hadrian’s Wall Path, do yourself a big favor and train for it. I did but more long walks would have been better.

There are companies to arrange your accommodations and transfer your big bag so you just walk from inn to inn with a daypack. But, some people arrange everything themselves. Some camp. Just depends on your style of trip.

The scenery is very pretty English countryside and you will probably see more sheep than people. The food is good and on my walk the weather was perfect.

Very lucky to have been able to do this four day walk along the best of the Wall.

And, to top it off, my buddy, Lee, and his wife surprised me at the inn and we had drinks and dinner. It was unreal.

Thanks, Lee and Helen.

Cheers
