May 12, 2025 – Chollerford to York, England

With my walk of the middle section of Hadrian’s Wall Path over, took the train from Hexham to York, a trip of an hour and a half.

York’s history fills thick books. You’ve got Anglo Saxon, Norman, Viking and English threads of history here.

But, the city was founded by the Romans in 71 AD. They left in the fifth century with the collapse of their empire.

There’s a lot of architecture that reflects York’s deep history, including another wall which surrounded the old city center. I’ve already walked it.

Now, there must be some Yorkshire pudding around here somewhere. Maybe in the Chinese restaurant across the street?

Cheers
