Arrived in Ulaanbaatar, took my prearranged ride to the hotel and then my buddy, Lee Gilbert , who arrived a few hours earlier, said let’s go to the Chengis Khan statue an hour and a half away. So, we did.
Out in the countryside, the statue towers above the grassland, known as the steppe. The steppe is rolling hills and mountains cloaked in grasses. Forests grow on the mountain slopes. The steppe runs from eastern Mongolia to western Russia.
There used to be a startup screen or screensaver that displayed when you started your computer with a Windows operating system. Mongolia looks like that photo of the gentle hills covered in green, green grass. See the screenshot in the attached photos.
Been a long day. Have a good whatever.
