Drove from Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Saty Village in Kazakhstan. The landscapes in Kazakhstan are vast, like the USA’s West. Before we settled down in a guesthouse, went into Kolsay Lakes National Park. September 7, 2023 – Song-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan
Out of touch yesterday because we drove high into the mountains to a beautiful mountain lake, Song-Kul. Stayed in a yurt. Lots of cows, horses, sheep, and some yaks in this grassland at about 9,900 ft.

Tour group drove out of Bishkek and into the mountains. Stay is in tiny village at about 4,700 ft and we’re going higher tomorrow.

Arrived in Bishkek early this morning, checked in the hotel, took a long nap then hit the sidewalks. The stroll took me to the Osh Bazaar where almost everything is sold, even pig heads.
