Took a bus 3.5 hours from Santo Domingo to Samana on the northeast peninsula of the DR. The Dominican Republic is often abbreviated to the DR. The bus ride cost 400 Dominican pesos which was $7.17 US.
The motoconcho from the bus stop in Samana cost 250 pesos or $4.46 and the ride was only about a mile. The last half was up a steep hill. I think that shows that the bus fare was a bargain and it was a full sized, air conditioned bus with lively music.
My Airbnb has a good view from the balcony of the town and bay. The balcony is surrounded by steel bars which pollutes the view but, oh well.
Dinner was Bandera Dominicana. It’s rice, beans, stewed chicken with a tiny salad. Had a mojito too. Good typical Dominican dinner.
