March 2, 2023 – Las Galeras, Dominican Republic

Today, went on a tour by boat to three nice beaches near Las Galeras. They were playas Fronton on the tip of the Samana peninsula, Madama, and Rincon.

The boat was about 18 ft long, open with bench seats. About a dozen people and three crew members went. It was a fun, bouncing, sometimes pounding ride with a lunch at Playa Rincon. The pescado (fish) was good. The restaurant was Brassa del Mar and it’s on the beach.

Even though I wore sunscreen, I feel fried.

Closing in on Playa Fronton
Playa Fronton. The rock is of volcanic origin.
At Playa Fronton. The snack bar.

At Playa Fronton. The puppy is a lucky resident. The woman and the guy are from Zurich, Switzerland.
Playa Madama, a small almost private feeling beach
Pescado y arroz (fish and rice)
About time to leave Playa Rincon
“Cave” where some Taino Indians lived after the Spanish stole their land
