Took a bus from Xalapa to Veracruz on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Veracruz is a major Mexican port. I haven’t been here in a very long time.
The ride this morning was without traffic jams or drama. Took two hours and cost 178 pesos or $10 US.
There can’t be a better place to be in Veracruz at night than the Zocalo. It’s a small plaza in the historic part of town. Tonight it was full of mostly Christmas activities. Full of people too.
The cathedral next to it was stuffed with the other half of Veracruz’s population. There are a lot of kids here. Oh yeah, this is a Catholic country.
