Sept 9, 2025 – Ulaanbaatar to Baga Gadzrïn Chuluu, Mongolia

Today, drove into the Middle Gobi. The steppe around Ulaanbaatar became clumpy grass and bare ground. Sheep, goats and horses made the most of it.

Some of the route was rocky roads, some roads more like stone filled ditches.

Visited an important Buddhist monastery built after the previous one was almost completely destroyed by the Soviets in the early 1900s.

We’re staying in a ger camp. Ger is the Mongolian word for a yurt. Yurt is the Russian word. You know.
