Visited the tourist office and grabbed a map of a walking tour of St George’s. Then, started walking around the city of 34,000 people. St George’s is the capital and largest city in Grenada. It doesn’t take but a day to see most of it superficially.
There’s Fort George on a hill overlooking the harbor but construction is going on so couldn’t visit it. I tried but was stopped by a security guard. The guard, Joel, took me up to a couple of old cannons but that was as far as he let me go.
From there, walked to the market, the bus station, the cemetery, and into the Catholic Church where a service was going on with a rastaman playing sax. No videos or photos were allowed. Sorry
Saw a few more sites and then walked back to my Airbnb stopping once to get out of the rain. It’s been raining periodically today. But, the rain keeps this island very green and keeps the spice growers happy. They grow nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, pepper, sugar cane and more.
Cheers
