Drove to Togo today, spending three hours trying to cross the border between Benin and Togo. Most of the time was spent sitting around, waiting.

After the crossing, went to Togoville which is across a big shallow lake. Pope John Paul II visited Togoville in 1985 to bless a bone of St Mary which is in the cathedral. We saw the bone. I guess it must be real if the Pope came.

Afterwards it was on to a hotel on the beach in Lome. The ocean is rough. It looks like it will knock you back onto the beach if you enter it.
