Cape Breton Highlands National Park on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia has rounded, cloaked-in-green mountains. At the southwest corner of the park is the small coastal town of Cheticamp.
My Airbnb for the next three nights is nearby on a bluff overlooking the Cheticamp River. Wonderful view.
The host says moose and bear are sometimes seen below the bluff along the river. There’s an eagle’s nest in a tree by the river but it’s unoccupied.
Looks like a great area for hiking, starting tomorrow.
