September 29, 2026 – Ilulissat, Greenland

Today, we walked another loop on trails to the ice fiord, the Blue trail, named because the trail markers are blue. Probably about five miles also. We had the company of a loose husky for the first mile but he decided to desert us for a hiking couple going toward his dog area, the area that we had walked from.

Cheers

In the afternoon, went on a whale watching boat trip for two and a half hours. Saw a few humpback whales. Most have started south for the winter, probably going to the Caribbean. I saw some in Samana Bay of the Dominican Republic in January a couple of years ago. Go whale watching.

Cheers

And, last but not least, Greenland turned the Aurora on tonight. What a great light show.
